As Paula Deen goes into heavy damage control mode, she's lost another job.
The Food Network fired the celebrity chef last week, and now Smithfield Food has dumped her. The pork company said in a statement, "Smithfield condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind. Therefore, we are terminating our partnership with Paula Deen. Smithfield is determined to be an ethical food industry leader and it is important that our values and those of our spokespeople are properly aligned." Paula had promoted the brand since 2006.
Meanwhile, the Southern cook will sit down with the Today show's Matt Lauer Wednesday to talk about her racial slur scandal. She bailed at the last minute on her scheduled interview on Friday. Monday, Matt said, "She has told us she will be here this time."
Once a beater, always a beater? Chris Brown has been accused of assaulting another woman -- this time at an Orange County nightclub.
Twenty-four-year-old Deanna Gines tells TMZ, she was in the VIP section at the Heat Ultra Lounge with Chris Saturday in Anaheim, where he had just performed. As the venue was about the close, Dines claims, the singer deliberately “shoved her to the ground,” and she fell hard on her knees.
Deanna, who filed a police report, says she had to go to the hospital, where doctors told her she had torn ligaments in her right knee and may need surgery.
Chris's rep, Nicole Perna, tells TMZ, "I'm unaware of the incident, as is Chris's lawyer and his entire team. He was in a great mood after Powerhouse." She adds, "None of this makes sense."
Earlier this morning Brown commented on situation via Twitter, tweeting, "I didn't do anything."
